Writer's block. I've had a severe case of it lately. The ideas just haven't been flowing , and there hasn't been anything exciting going on to write about. Camryn hasn't even been giving me any good material lately.
You can bet that if there's anything new and popular that people are crazy about, I am going to be at least 2 years behind having any interest in it - especially if it involves electronics. Case in point - I got my first iPod last night. It's pink. I like it.
We've had a pretty great weekend. Friday we actually got to be at home, just the three of us, without anything planned. We played, we napped, we didn't shower for most of the day ... it was great. Today we went to a choir party at a lake house that belongs to one of our choir members. It was so nice to sit around by the lake enjoying food and company - even if it was 110 degrees outside! It was especially fun to go for a ride on their boat. This was Camryn's first boat ride. She wasn't too crazy about it as we got going, so I told her she could lay her head in my lap and close her eyes if she wanted to, thinking she would eventually be fine. Within a minute, she was sleeping like a log. Oh well, so much for her first "exciting" boat ride!
Through blogging, I have reconnected with one of my friends from college, Stephanie. For the past few months, I have been following her blog as she and her husband have journeyed through the adoption process. And, I've been so excited for her this past week, because she is now the mommy of a sweet baby boy! I've thought about her so many times this weekend, and how GOOD God is to have brought this little baby into their lives so quickly (their homestudy hadn't even been approved yet when he was born!). I'm so thankful for families like hers who are willing to follow God's plan for their lives through adoption, and I'm so happy for sweet Tyson for the loving, Christian home I know he will be raised in!
Only 2 more weeks until my summer begins. Once it starts, Camryn will only go to school 2 days a week. So, we will have Wednesday - Sunday home together during the summer. I've been trying to think of some fun things for us to do, like programs at the library, My Gym, and swimming lessons, but nothing is really panning out. I feel like I have an opportunity to make this summer meaningful since she is at such a great age, but I'm still trying to figure out a schedule for us.
So, do you want to help settle a debate? Jason and I have an ongoing discussion about who is right on this. It's a hygiene question. Are you ready for this? Do you clean your ears with Qtips EVERY day? We have differing opinions on this, and I won't tell you who thinks what, so as not to influence your answer! But, one of us believes this should be done EACH AND EVERY day without fail, and the other of us thinks it's something that should be done a few times per week but not every day. The person who believes it should be done every day also believes everyone else does it every day. The person who believes it should be done several times a week doesn't believe most people do it even that frequently. So, how often? Don't worry - we won't think you're gross no matter what your answer is! You can even leave your comment anonymously if that makes you feel better. But, tell us what you think! This should be interesting ...

We love our ipod...we both have one and it is so nice...get a docking station so you can listen to it out loud. We never use the radio at home anymore.
Have fun this summer...don't stress over what you do, just enjoy it! I LOVE SUMMER!!!!
And for the last tidbit. My husband cleans his ears EVERY DAY. I do it as needed. I guess my ears are not as dirty as his.:0)
Neither one of us has an iPod. You are one step ahead.
We both clean ears everyday. For me, it is mainly to get the water out. I think anyway. Never thought about it. :)

You're ahead of me with the iPod!!! lol Around here we just clean our ears every other day! I LOVE you!!!
I am so excited about your friend Stephanie. Adoption is such a powerful tool to really "see" God working. They will continue to see how God put this in motion for them years ago. Adopted kids are loved double as much because of the love their birth families have for them as well as their Mommies and Daddies! I can't wait to hear more!
I clean my ears after every shower because I don't like to feel water in my ears. Gary cleans his as needed. I have always had more wax than most. Eli has the same problem. Caedyn hardley ever has visible wax, so we don't clean hers as often. Our pediatrician said DO NOT use Q-Tips to clean ears because the wax can get impacted. So with the kids we just use a washcloth to wipe out their ears. My sister had impacted earwax and had to have it like blasted out. She said it was the most painful thing ever. (She had very easy labors!)
Sorry for the long comment!
I got a pink Ipod for my B/D in August and just starting really using it since I have started running! I love it! I miss your posts on coupons and saving money!
I am so happy for your friend, adoption is a wonderful thing for everyone! I would love to adopt again one day! I personally clean my ears out everyother day, because I am afraid of the ear wax build up.
Yay ~ For your friend who has adopted. I am lucky enough to see adoptions work out everyday at work and it is a great feeling! I am so happy for this family.
Also ~ I clean my ear after every shower...so at least every day, sometimes twice a day...However, Lani and DAx's ear don't get cleaned everyday....just a few times a week....Jarod admits that he doesn't clean his ears everyday and he should do it more often, but his ears aren't gross or anything :)
Andy and I clean our every day! I do because my ears itch if I don't and it drives me crazy!!
On a side note, will you pray for our sweet friends Kyle and Leah? They are in the adoption process. They've been in the process two years, and on the waiting list for one year. They were chosen by a birth mom and then she decided to keep the baby. It's so encouraging to hear about your friends getting a baby. I hope it happens for our friends soon!
Not every day - only when I think about it or I feel like they need it! I use it more to get the water out of my ears, than anything! I think every day might be a little excessive - plus, I have heard that you can push wax further down in your ear if you're not careful.
I do the ear-cleaning stuff a couple of times a week. If I did it every day, I would feel like I was just wasting q-tips because nothing comes out!
